DEVELOPMENTAL PRESCHOOL TEACHER

Job Description

Part time position to assist students – preschool children ages 3 to 5 - with disabilities, which meet federal and state criteria for placement in Early Childhood Special Education, in achieving individualized goals and objectives as determined by the IEP.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Displays content knowledge and makes connection between content and other parts of the discipline.
Reflects understanding of current research and best pedagogical practice.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of special education laws and procedures.
Develops and implements Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Maintains student compliance files in accordance with federal, state and local procedures.
Displays thorough understanding of typical developmental characteristics of age group as well as exceptions to general patterns.
Displays solid understanding of the different approaches to learning that different students display.
Develops instructional goals that adequately reflect identified individual student needs as determined by evaluation or assessment.
Uses assessment results to plan for individual and group instruction.
Displays knowledge of resources and knows how to gain access to enhance student learning.
Designs learning activities, which are suitable to students' IEP goals.
Interacts with students in a polite, caring and respectful manner.
Conveys genuine enthusiasm for subject and students.
Supervises paraprofessionals and volunteers.
Responds to student misbehavior appropriately and successfully.
Demonstrates clear and accurate oral and written communication.
Engages students in learning.
Persists in seeking instructional approaches for young students who have difficulty learning.
Makes accurate assessments of instructional effectiveness.
Monitors student progress toward achievement of instructional goals.
Communicates with parents about student progress on a regular basis.
Maintains and submits data for Medicaid billing.
Seeks out opportunities for professional growth.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all other duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a teacher and the Idaho Code of Ethics.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This position has previously been combined with the part time kindergarten teaching position, but it can be a stand alone position, or combined again if the applicant
has the right certifications.


The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy.Salary will be in accordance with placement on the Teacher's Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and education.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of board policy.
 

Other

  • This position has been previously combined with the kindergarten teaching position, along with some additional responsibilities, to make it a full time position. We are seeking someone who has the Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement to screen, identify, and write IEP's for students who potentially might need services in preschool. In addition, we are seeking a person who can provide a preschool opportunity for these, and other students.

Substitute Bus Driver

Position Type: Part Time

 

Job Description:

Sub for regular route drivers, drive for activities during and outside of school, and attend quarterly trainings.

 

Responsibilities:

Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons

Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends

Maintain a clean bus at all times

Obey all traffic laws

Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route

Ensure safety of all students

Transport all school age children to sporting events, activities, and field trips

Discipline children when required to maintain a safe and healthy environment

Assist students with getting on and off the bus when required

Attend quarterly safety meetings

 

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Hold a current CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements (must complete before August to take the School Bus Driving Training Course)

No at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years

Clean driving record (no traffic citations in last 5 years)

Ability to carry out assigned route on time

Excellent communication skills

 

*School Bus Driving Training Course Training will be provided by Misty Parish and will be done during August and September.
*Pay varies depending on route and activity.
